Local Transport

Leeds is a compact city and it is relatively easy to find your way around

Bus

There is a range of daily, weekly, monthly and term tickets available. You can buy daily and weekly tickets on the No.7S bus. This bus takes you directly to the city centre and the bus stop is directly outside the entrance of the house. You can buy longer-term tickets from the First Travel Shop on New Market Street in the city centre. More information and prices are available on the First Bus website.

Taxi

You can also stop black and white taxis in the street. Other taxis including Uber, which are usually cheaper, must be booked in advance by phone or online. Only take a marked taxi car, and ask the driver beforehand for an estimation of how much the journey will cost.

Trains

You can get discounted tickets by booking in advance, by using a railcard and by being flexible over your travel dates. You can buy tickets at Leeds train station, on the National Rail Enquiries website or by calling National Rail Enquiries on 0845 48 49 50.

Coaches

Coach travel is generally cheaper than train travel but takes longer. Coaches arrive in and depart from the bus and coach station on York Street. For more information, visit the National Express website or the Megabus website.
